Hi all,
So I've actually written this post in September but my laziness had taken over and I procrastinated way too much to edit/add pictures to this post.
Getting back to the blog, this one's a review on a place called 'MRP' that has opened in Dadar. The very first reaction I had was, Dadarrrr? But, honestly I was really excited to visit this place, it was surprising to know that Dadar is now opening such cool and happening places.
The experience started building the moment we entered the place. The interiors and presentation of the place screamed of being uptown. MRP is a game themed bar and restro with drinking games on every table. It's a huge place with indoor and outdoor seating.
I started off with my favourite, long island which didn't live upto the mark. First of all, I expected it to be presented in a fancy manner but it was served in just a normal glass and had already turned me off! It wasn't strong and the amount of ice put in it made it watery and even worse.
I had heard about their cocktails and decided to call for a Molecular DSLR. It's a deeper and sexier version of pina-colada served in a DSLR lense. Litchi caviar were served along with the drink in the lense cover that needed to be added to the drink before sipping onto it. The drink had a tropical flavor with creamy pineapple and Litchi pearls, a good balance of Malibu and white rum. The pearls started bursting in my mouth once the Malibu was over. Just after this explosion was over I felt a rush of passion fruit puree.
I definitely will recommend this drink to one!
For starters, I called for Steamed Chicken Wantons. They were served with scallion and roasted garlic. It was cooked well and had the perfect amount of spice to it.
The next dish we called for was Prawn crackers. Well, when this dish was bought at our table I just thought it was a part of the side order along with the alcohol, it looked like chips in a bowl served with tarter sauce. However, the smell of prawns was all in the air. They were literally prawn chips, very finely fried and was absolutely dainty. The tarter sauce was so good, I couldn't stop licking it even after my chips were over.
Since, I am a seafood lover and sucker for prawns the next thing we ordered was Rock Shrimp Tempura. This was served in a glass. While only 8 huge crispy prawns were served I only wanted more of it!

We directly skipped to mains after this, and ordered Pot rice with fish. There were a good amount of pieces of Basa fish. This dish was typically cooked in Asian style and lived up to our expectations.
For dessert, we were suggest to try the Jenga tower. It was an original creation by MRP called Jenga Tower which was a gooey, dark chocolate creation assembled as a Jenga Tower. The addition of caramel syrup made it feel even more rich.
The price you pay for your food and drink isn't bad at all, but once you've had a good amount of drinks the taxes add up so much you wouldn't even realize. The service is top-notch and quick. The place starts getting crowded later in the night and the best part is it is open till 3AM on Saturdays.
Enjoy the pictures!
