Seas the Day at Boardwalk by Flamboyante

It's been forever since I wrote my last blog post and this post is by far my fastest post published. The n number of questions received by everyone after one check-in on facebook at this place, set aside my lazy behavior and motivated me put some time to write this!

I had been planning to visit this place since almost a year now, but never got a chance to go. Finally, this was my time to visit Boardwalk! We booked our tickets to travel by PNP and left from Gateway at 2pm. (priced at INR.165/- recommended pre booking)

Nestled in the beauty of Mandwa Beach, just besides the Jetty, you land at a complete aww of place surrounded with peace and mesmerizing beauty in just 50 minutes. It took me a while to take a breathe of the fresh air around me. It was a Saturday and since we hadn't pre-booked it got a little difficult to get a table on the spot. However, the manager was nice enough to accommodate a table for the two of us at the end moment. The place was actually house full, with a birthday party going on at one side, a bachelorett on another and a few other guests enjoying their meals here and there.

Boardwalk is a Greek themed restaurant with all white and blues doing perfect justice to the place. The interiors are on point, keeping in mind the location bang next to the beach. We got fresh and settled ourselves on a couch facing the sea, and I just couldn't get enough of that unreal view!

We had to place our order real quick, and finish our meal by 5pm since the place was booked for a private party later. We first called for a double apple - mint based sheesha which was presented to us in a tall hukka pot and gave a truly arabic feeling. For drinks, we had a sangria and a beer. The sangria was made well, but the bar menu isn't too pocket friendly.

Since you all know, I'm a hardcore sea food lover.. To begin with we called for fried fish and chips which was served with tarter sauce. The food isn't extraordinary but totally satisfying. The dish came in with only two big pieces of fish with chips and sauce. At first the quantity looked less to me but it had already ruined my appetite. The fish was bland yet fresh, tender and finely cooked. And, the tarter sauce served along with it compensated the taste.

We then ordered fish tikka. This was basa cooked very well, and the masala on it tasted typically like a Mughlai dish. This was so good, it almost melted in the mouth and i just couldn't wait to pick my next piece. It was served with green chutney which has always blended well with most foods.

For mains, we ate grilled fish sizzler which was basa once again. Unfortunately, we didn't know that this dish wasn't served with rice or noodles but only steamed and caramelized vegetables along with signature mash and potato wedges. (Forgot to click a picture of this)

We were so full after this, but no meal is complete without a dessert! We called for the famous mud pie with vanilla ice cream. Just one word, foodgasmic! Try it yourself to know more ;)

The sun was setting and the view kept getting better. I really wished we could wait for some more time and enjoy the sunset. However, since it was already 4:45 we had to vacate the place. Our bill came upto Rs.4000 and we were more than happy to dish that out of our pockets!

The experience was totally worth the wait and I would definitely suggest each one to visit this place for a sun downer at least once. I do recommend booking a week in advance cause no matter how courteous the staff is, the place is so busy that even if they wish to help you they can't do anything about it.

We booked a ferry to come back to Bombay which was going to depart at 5:45pm. Meanwhile, we walked around the beach and enjoyed the magnificent view. We had tickets to a normal ferry that took us an hour to come back and the sunset was one of the best, I have seen so far! The Mumbai skyline looked extra pretty and here was the end to a day spent beautifully with the person who matters the most.

Hope this post has helped you fix a venue for you're next date or maybe even a day out with your family. Don't forget to like and share this post if it has helped you, it may help someone else too!

Special ingredients for a special you: crafted for timeless youthfulness

Hello everyone,

Summer doesn't seem to end and so is the need of a refreshing shower gel. Let's be honest, I usually use soap; I used the Fiama Di Wills Shower Gel basically to write this review and it has now become a routine. This brand has a lot of different variants in gels and body soaps but this one's from the limited edition exquisitely designed by "Masaba." The gel is an amalgamation of avant grade fashion and innovative skincare.
Fiama Di Wills shower gel is yet another innovation from ITC’s Laboratoire Naturel. The advanced 3D suspension technology delivers rich encapsulated glitter beads to invigorate your senses.

Directions for use:
1. Pour shower gel on wet loofah.
2. Apply gently over your wet body.
3. Enjoy the opulent feel of glitter beads and rinse off.

My Experience with Fiama Di Wills Shower Gel – Aquamarine Agleam:
The shower gels I received came in a fancy packing with three gels packed in transparent bottles with different colors out of which one was reserved for men's. The first thing I noticed in ALL 3 shower gels was its fragrance. I can’t exactly describe, but it is very pleasant and I am sure many of us will love it.
The Aquamarine Agleam shower gel is enriched with aquamarine dust and skin conditioners that detoxify the skin. The gel has a faint blue color and is of the right consistency, neither too runny nor too thick and also has some glittery beads. They are provided to refresh our senses and provide a gentle exfoliation to the skin. The shower gel lathers pretty well  with the loofah and we don’t have to use a lot in order to indulge in a good bathing experience. Also, it rinses out without any trouble.
This shower gel is very moisturizing and at the same time gives a clean feeling to the skin.

Pros of Fiama Di Wills Shower Gel- Aquamarine Agleam :
- Pleasant fragrance.
- Small quantity is needed for one bath hence the bottle will last long.
- Rinses out easily.
- Hygienic packaging.

Cons of Fiama Di Wills Shower Gel – Aquamarine Agleam :
-Although it is moisturizing by nature, it may not be enough for a super dry skin.
-The fragrance fades away in a few minutes.

I am absolutely mesmerized by this amazing range and you too will be when you actually try it yourself!

Love,
Samidha.

How to look thinner?

Whether you’ve recently put on a few extra kilos you want to camouflage or you’re just paranoid about every extra inch you put on!

No matter how slender we are or how much we work out, most women have an annoying little voice in the back of their heads that says, ‘I wish I was thinner.’ So, here's how to look thinner even if you are not…

Long and short of it: Too-long sleeves create the illusion of serious poundage on your upper body. A good rule of thumb is that your sleeves should end right at your wrist when your arms are hanging by your sides. So if you have tops that hang past that point, bring them in to be shortened.

Define your waist: If your midsection is the problem, don’t resort to oversize tops. They give the illusion that you’re bigger than you are. If you want more variety than belted blouses or empire waists, look for structured button-up shirts and form-fitting dresses.

Pant up: Wear higher-rise and straight-cut pants to prevent your hips from appearing wide. Avoid skinny jeans and jeans that hit your hips. Go for something that has a higher waist, because it won’t create bulges and is more flattering on the butt.

High and Mighty: Heels create good posture and go a long way toward helping you appear slimmer. Begin with a small wedge or chunky heel to elevate yourself slowly. Work your way up to higher heels that you can wear with knee-length skirts and dresses to further define your legs.

Colour and Shape: Solid color draw the eye up and down rather than side to side. As a result, the eye takes in more height than width, causing you to appear thinner and taller. Try wearing a dress in a solid color or a deep blue top with dark wash jeans.

Hairdo: Long hair draws attention away from a full face. Get soft layers, which highlight bone structure, even on a big girl. Another super-slimming trick: volume. Plump up hair with hot rollers or a volumising spray. You could also go for highlights, to make your hair your defining feature.

Makeup: For makeup, play up your eyes. The larger your eyes look, the more petite your face will seem. Go crazy with smokey eyes and play with your eye shadows as much as you want. Use a natural matte bronze with shimmer which will draw attention to round cheeks and on the bottom jaw line, which will create an illusion of a shadow. Blend outwards toward your chin, this can take several pounds off your face and hide any signs of a double chin.

You might not think that your eyebrows matter, but full, well-groomed brows make a huge difference when you want to slim down your face. They add definition and create “a triangular illusion, keeping the onlooker’s eyes on the center of the face.

Hope these tips work for you.

Basic makeup for Summer ft. Suman Munot

Hello lovelies,

It's getting hotter day by day and your makeup just doesn't want to stay! There's no more to worry about, this article will give you basic guidelines to get the apt summer make up for your day to day life in the coming months.

My friend, Suman Munot, a freelance makeup artist wants to share few steps you should definitely master to get your summer make up on point. You can also check out other videos and tips given by her here.

#1 Cleanse your face and eyes using cleanser.

#2 Apply foundation with SPF (sun protection factor) between 20-40 or apply moisturizer with SPF all over your face so it protects your skin, from the sun.

#3 Apply lip balm.

#4 Apply BB Cream as a foundation as they are very light and can be used as a substitute for foundation. BB creams contain sunscreen which protects the skin during summers. They are more suited for real women, rather then professional use and can be used on daily basis.
Don't use creamy foundation, as they melt during summers.

#5 Correct and conceal your under eyes using concealer half to one shade lighter than your foundation

#6 Set everything with loose powder, if you don't have a compact.

#7 For eyes: Give a wash all over your eyelids using the same color as your skin tone. (shades of brown)

#8 Take a darker shade of brown and apply it in < shape on the outer corners of your eyes and blend it well until no harsh lines are visible.

#9  Pop the center of your eyes with your finger using the shades of the copper family with little shimmer.

#10  Apply gel liner on your lash line as it sets on its own, doesn't crack, and are smudge proof.

#11 Curl your lashes and apply 2-3 coats of mascara.

#12 Apply powder blusher (just a wash)

#13 Apply your favorite color of lip liner and lipstick.

Are you Holi ready?

Playing holi is fun but it can damage your skin and hair. Here are really easy beauty hacks to protect your hair and skin from the harsh effects of the Holi colors.

#1 Don’t forget your sunscreen: The exposure to the sun during Holi makes your skin dry by consuming the moisture and causing tan. Apply sunscreen 20 minutes prior to playing Holi.
Wear clothes with full sleeves so that your skin is less exposed to the heat and colors.

#2 Use oil to massage your hair, hands and feet: Applying oil in your hair and all over your body, including your navel and the space between your fingers and toes, will help get the color off easily. Additionally, it prevents dryness and any irritation your skin may experience because of harsh chemicals in the colors.
Looking like an oily mess is better than looking like a technicoloured alien later.

#3 Moisturize your lips with a lip balm: Apply a lip balm right before playing Holi to prevent dry and chapped lips.

#4 Decorate and protect your nails with nail polish: The nails go through a lot as the color powder gets accumulated within them. Apply a nail varnish on the nails to protect the nails from absorbing the Holi colors and not make your fingers look gross for weeks later.

#5 Why compromise on your beauty regime?: Apply waterproof makeup on the day of Holi. Use light waterproof mascara as it mixes into the skin and doesn’t become blotchy while playing Holi. Use waterproof eyeliner and give it a nice smudged look.

#6 Show some love to regain the lost moisture post Holi: Give yourself a face pack treatment at home and apply a good moisturizer to regain the lost moisture.

Others:

#7 Don't wear contact lenses.

#8 Wear old comfortable clothes that cover as much body as possible.

#9 Tie your hair into a bun and use extra rubber band to keep it intact.

#10 If you have any open wounds, cover them with a band aide.

Andd?
A Very Happy and Safe Holi to all!

5 natural home remedies to get straight hair

I personally love straight hair and the waves in my hair use to irritate me often! Hence, I decided to straighten my hair. I realized the damage done to it after highlighting and straightening it. I faced severe hair fall and my hair looked extremely dry, dull and frizzy. 7 months down the line I was even bored of my poker straight hair. Yes! You heard it right… Once you straighten your hair permanently it’s really difficult to change your hairstyle again.

But, if you want to have straight tresses without damaging your lustrous long hair by using harmful chemicals and heated instruments, there are some ingredients in your kitchen that can help straighten your hair naturally without damaging it.

1. Lemon juice and coconut milk paste: Lemon juice and coconut milk are the best ingredients for straightening your hair naturally. When mixed, they act as a cream conditioner and help in straightening the hair. After mixing, apply the paste and wash your hair with lukewarm water. A clear difference will be noticed if done twice a week.
2. Mix of bananas, yogurt, honey and olive oil: Mash two bananas with two tablespoons of honey, yogurt and olive oil. Mix nicely and refrigerate for about 30 minutes. Apply the paste on your hair and cover it with a towel or a shower cap. After an hour, rinse it with cold water.
3. Soyabean oil: Mix 1 tbsp of soyabean oil and 2 tbsp of castor oil. First, heat the mix, and then slightly cool it. Once the mixture is cooled, apply the mix on your scalp and hair and massage for sometime. After massaging, leave it in your hair for 30 minutes. Wash off the mix with a mild shampoo.

4. Eggs and olive oil: Take two eggs, add olive oil and mix nicely. Massage your scalp with the paste and keep it for about an hour. This will not only straighten your hair, but also soften and condition it.

5. Vinegar: After rinsing your hair, add a few drops of vinegar in a full mug of water and rinse your strands with the mix. Finally, rinse it with clean water. This will not only help in straightening, but also add to the shine.

Hope this article will be useful and do let me know in the comment section if these tips worked for you.
