MRP?

Hi all,

So I've actually written this post in September but my laziness had taken over and I procrastinated way too much to edit/add pictures to this post.

Getting back to the blog, this one's a review on a place called 'MRP' that has opened in Dadar. The very first reaction I had was, Dadarrrr? But, honestly I was really excited to visit this place, it was surprising to know that Dadar is now opening such cool and happening places.

The experience started building the moment we entered the place. The interiors and presentation of the place screamed of being uptown. MRP is a game themed bar and restro with drinking games on every table. It's a huge place with indoor and outdoor seating.

I started off with my favourite, long island which didn't live upto the mark. First of all, I expected it to be presented in a fancy manner but it was served in just a normal glass and had already turned me off! It wasn't strong and the amount of ice put in it made it watery and even worse.

I had heard about their cocktails and decided to call for a Molecular DSLR. It's a deeper and sexier version of pina-colada served in a DSLR lense. Litchi caviar were served along with the drink in the lense cover that needed to be added to the drink before sipping onto it. The drink had a tropical flavor with creamy pineapple and Litchi pearls, a good balance of Malibu and white rum. The pearls started bursting in my mouth once the Malibu was over. Just after this explosion was over I felt a rush of passion fruit puree.
I definitely will recommend this drink to one!

For starters, I called for Steamed Chicken Wantons. They were served with scallion and roasted garlic. It was cooked well and had the perfect amount of spice to it.

The next dish we called for was Prawn crackers. Well, when this dish was bought at our table I just thought it was a part of the side order along with the alcohol, it looked like chips in a bowl served with tarter sauce. However, the smell of prawns was all in the air. They were literally prawn chips, very finely fried and was absolutely dainty. The tarter sauce was so good, I couldn't stop licking it even after my chips were over.

Since, I am a seafood lover and sucker for prawns the next thing we ordered was Rock Shrimp Tempura. This was served in a glass. While only 8 huge crispy prawns were served I only wanted more of it!

We directly skipped to mains after this, and ordered Pot rice with fish. There were a good amount of pieces of Basa fish. This dish was typically cooked in Asian style and lived up to our expectations.

For dessert, we were suggest to try the Jenga tower. It was an original creation by MRP called Jenga Tower which was a gooey, dark chocolate creation assembled as a Jenga Tower. The addition of caramel syrup made it feel even more rich.

The price you pay for your food and drink isn't bad at all, but once you've had a good amount of drinks the taxes add up so much you wouldn't even realize. The service is top-notch and quick. The place starts getting crowded later in the night and the best part is it is open till 3AM on Saturdays.

Enjoy the pictures!

Friends or more than that?

Hi,

Today, I'm sharing with all you beautiful people another incident of my life which you may relate to! Have you ever thought you and your best friend are actually friends or could go beyond being only friends?

It often leaves one confused whether to or not, take things ahead when you know that your best friend likes you! Sometimes YOU too may not know if you feel the same for your best friend.

Here are signs that you'll are probably more than just friends....

1. They've gotten jealous of your boyfriend/girlfriend before. You think they would get along well coz they're both so similar, but he/she probably thinks why you wouldn't date them!

2. You'll finds excuses to make plans that involves both of you -  It's usually possible to have last minute cancellations for group plans or someone might just back out, but you'll never generally care. The only person you confirm with is him/her.

3. You've had some close calls together, you guys almost hooked up after a few drinks at the bar. You almost kissed or maybe actually kissed and admitted it the next day that it was weird!
It ain't always pretty.:

4. You'll are cuddle buddies, come on!
Perfect way to cuddle:

5. Although you do tease each another with other friends but you just brush it off like you're not interested.

6. You both really go out of way to help each other. If he is nice to you, he just is! If you need help, you know you have his back.

7. You'll never hesitates or even think once before letting things out to each other; fights with friends, arguments at home, problems in office And.. you've grown so close that you're even comfortable farting in front of one another.

8. You snap at each other over stupid things - This kind of taking-each-other-for-granted bickering is a sure sign that you feel comfortable enough with your 'best friend' to be kind of a jerk to one another.

9. You have at least one in-joke or story that other people don’t understand, usually brushed off as “long story!” or “you had to be there!”

10. They’re always the first one to like your status on Facebook or comment on a new picture of you, telling you how great you look.

11. You’ve worn their hoodie or sweatshirt before, when it was cold outside and your nipples felt like daggers.

12. You know precise facts about them, like their middle name, their mother’s name or where they grew up. If you know their eye color without thinking about it, you’re probably in love with them as fuck.

13. All of your text messages end in smiley faces or hearts, and when you’re feeling particularly flirty, sometimes BOTH. Better watch out, though. You don’t want to cross a line here.

14. You often call or text each other for advice about other people you’re seeing or when you need a dating pep talk.

15. Your friends and family sometimes say that they don’t understand your relationship, and sometimes think you’re dating. They think you’re just in a Ross and Rachel thing, and you disagree.

16. You’ve ever frozen when asked to DTR (define the relationship, for Awkward. fans) by folks who meet the two of you together. And then you insist they’re just a friend.

17. People tell you what a great couple you’d make, and you can’t help but laugh a little. It’s not that sort of thing, but what is it exactly? (see the title of the article?)

18. They have a lot of the qualities you picture in a potential partner and they’re fun to be around, the kind of person you can just let yourself go with. But you can’t quite picture the two of you together.

I prospect these 18 pointers were enough to prove that you're just more than friends. And trust me, it's never a bad idea to date your best friend!

See you soon,
XOXO!

Seas the Day at Boardwalk by Flamboyante

It's been forever since I wrote my last blog post and this post is by far my fastest post published. The n number of questions received by everyone after one check-in on facebook at this place, set aside my lazy behavior and motivated me put some time to write this!

I had been planning to visit this place since almost a year now, but never got a chance to go. Finally, this was my time to visit Boardwalk! We booked our tickets to travel by PNP and left from Gateway at 2pm. (priced at INR.165/- recommended pre booking)

Nestled in the beauty of Mandwa Beach, just besides the Jetty, you land at a complete aww of place surrounded with peace and mesmerizing beauty in just 50 minutes. It took me a while to take a breathe of the fresh air around me. It was a Saturday and since we hadn't pre-booked it got a little difficult to get a table on the spot. However, the manager was nice enough to accommodate a table for the two of us at the end moment. The place was actually house full, with a birthday party going on at one side, a bachelorett on another and a few other guests enjoying their meals here and there.

Boardwalk is a Greek themed restaurant with all white and blues doing perfect justice to the place. The interiors are on point, keeping in mind the location bang next to the beach. We got fresh and settled ourselves on a couch facing the sea, and I just couldn't get enough of that unreal view!

We had to place our order real quick, and finish our meal by 5pm since the place was booked for a private party later. We first called for a double apple - mint based sheesha which was presented to us in a tall hukka pot and gave a truly arabic feeling. For drinks, we had a sangria and a beer. The sangria was made well, but the bar menu isn't too pocket friendly.

Since you all know, I'm a hardcore sea food lover.. To begin with we called for fried fish and chips which was served with tarter sauce. The food isn't extraordinary but totally satisfying. The dish came in with only two big pieces of fish with chips and sauce. At first the quantity looked less to me but it had already ruined my appetite. The fish was bland yet fresh, tender and finely cooked. And, the tarter sauce served along with it compensated the taste.

We then ordered fish tikka. This was basa cooked very well, and the masala on it tasted typically like a Mughlai dish. This was so good, it almost melted in the mouth and i just couldn't wait to pick my next piece. It was served with green chutney which has always blended well with most foods.

For mains, we ate grilled fish sizzler which was basa once again. Unfortunately, we didn't know that this dish wasn't served with rice or noodles but only steamed and caramelized vegetables along with signature mash and potato wedges. (Forgot to click a picture of this)

We were so full after this, but no meal is complete without a dessert! We called for the famous mud pie with vanilla ice cream. Just one word, foodgasmic! Try it yourself to know more ;)

The sun was setting and the view kept getting better. I really wished we could wait for some more time and enjoy the sunset. However, since it was already 4:45 we had to vacate the place. Our bill came upto Rs.4000 and we were more than happy to dish that out of our pockets!

The experience was totally worth the wait and I would definitely suggest each one to visit this place for a sun downer at least once. I do recommend booking a week in advance cause no matter how courteous the staff is, the place is so busy that even if they wish to help you they can't do anything about it.

We booked a ferry to come back to Bombay which was going to depart at 5:45pm. Meanwhile, we walked around the beach and enjoyed the magnificent view. We had tickets to a normal ferry that took us an hour to come back and the sunset was one of the best, I have seen so far! The Mumbai skyline looked extra pretty and here was the end to a day spent beautifully with the person who matters the most.

Hope this post has helped you fix a venue for you're next date or maybe even a day out with your family. Don't forget to like and share this post if it has helped you, it may help someone else too!

Pop into Pop Tates!

So, the initial plan for last night was, The Bar Stock Exchange, only to find out the place is still under renovation and we ended up at to Pop tates in Kamla Mills. We reached there at around 11pm and although, it was a Saturday night we instantly got a table.

Ambiance wise the place is quite desperate and tries to scene American dining culture which pics all over the place, seating arrangements and what not. Over all it won't hurt your eyes but won't sooth either!

The discipline seemed strict as the waiter was very adamant on serving alcohol only if we had a 24+ id proof. Nevertheless, we settled for the night with Sangria, beer and a few pegs whiskey since one of my friend was 24. The service was very slow and no sooner that the alcohol arrived at the table the waiter stood there and kept watching everything we were doing.

For starters, we called for Salsa Prawns. They were tossed in Mexican spices and salsa. These were served in a small magnetic pan with a base of cabbage leaves. They were mind-blowing and worth the price. We also called for Mac and cheese which was served in a pan again along with three garlic breads. This was absolutely bland and not very well cooked, in spite of adding a good amount of chilly flakes and oregano it was still the worst I ever had.

Next we called for Chicken satay, which was okay and not very great. We also ordered Chicken squares, which came in as big pieces of chicken that were deeply fried and spiced. Again, it wasn't well cooked and the chicken was very rubbery.

For mains, we called for Fish-n-Chips. There were three pieces of Barca fish coated with bread crumbs, served with french fries and tartar sauce. It was finely cooked and the lemon juice sprinkled on top gave it a much better taste.

Sadly, my first time would be my last. The service is slow and the food as I said isn't that great. Pop in to Pop Tate's only if you wanna get sloshed without paying a bomb.

Until next time,
Samidha :')

Unwinding at BBC

British Brewing Company Menu, Reviews, Photos, Location and Info - Zomato
Hello People,

As you'll know I haven't been able to shoot, visit places or post since a really long time due to long working hours, I have finally learnt to balance it! This weekend I rejuvenated myself with some good food at a good place amidst positive vibes. I visited the British Brewing Company in Palladium Mall for dinner on a Friday night. The ambiance is a little rustic, the craftsmanship of furniture, the eclectic art pieces on the wall, the lighting, the fireplace, the couches from 19th century royalty, and the DJ's music collection, everything comes together to create a stunning ambiance. This place has a big center bar which dispenses the quality and quantity drinks to the entire outlet.

I was super impressed by the technology indulged with hospitality. They gave us an iPad from which you need to place your order and the staff will come to verify the same. The menu has a huge variety right from titbits, sandwiches, rolls, pasta, sizzlers, pizzas and seeks! The waiters constantly kept filling our glasses as soon as they reached half level of the glass. The best part is, that their menu states the price of every item inclusive of the VAT. The food is cheap but the taste will drive you crazy!

I started off with Mumbai Potato and as the name suggests it's a potato preparation influenced by the cuisine of Mumbaikars. They were deep fried potato wedges tossed in dry masala made up of sliced onions, garlic and spices. The crunch of the wedges was perfectly accompanied with the spicy masala which made it a perfect combo to have with drinks.

Followed by this dish was the Butterfly prawns. Tossed in spicy, tangy and a little sweet sauce along with vegetables the prawns had an extra touch of garlic and chillies! And since I'm more of a sea food lover the next thing I ordered was Fish fingers! They were breaded fish fillets fried to perfection with breadcrumbs giving a nice crunchy taste to the fish, served with tartar sauce.

I was already full only with these three items but I was very tempted by the sizzlers, and I could make some place for a little bit of it. I ordered the Ocean Life Sizzler which again has prawns marinated with herbs in hot garlic sauce. This was served with exotic vegetables and fries on the bed of rice. Only if, I hadn't eaten so much before this would I be able to finish the sizzler.

Apart from the food, I also called for a Cranberry Mist which acted as a good palate cleanser in between the feast. It was a quite refreshing drink with a dominating flavor of cranberry along with a hint of lemon and dash of sugar.

It's definitely a must try place with your gang and do not forget to reserve your table in advance. Do mention your feedback in the comments section below and do not forget to follow me on Instagram for more pictures: instagram/twentysomethingtripped

Until next time,

Samidha :D
